THE PROBLEM

Protein production inconsistency imposes substantial financial strain and consumes valuable time,

hindering discoveries. This obstacle lies in the isolation of proteins that are pure, soluble, and properly folded, where efficient production of exceptionally pure proteins stands as a crucial necessity for the progress of science and medicine.

Unfortunately, current protein purification methods are multi-step, inefficient and with a tendency to fall short in yielding proteins of absolute purity, especially in the case of those that are challenging to express. Typically in these cases, desired proteins are expressed as fusion proteins with a protein tag to enable isolation and allow subsequent purification through affinity chromatography.

Common protein-related challenges include low expression, presence of significant contaminants, aggregation arising from hydrophobic or disordered regions, and diminished stability. The multi-step isolation process often compounds these problems.
